One of my most recent classes; Shades of White was so very good with Ivette Newport. She taught me things that I've yet to have learned, like dividing my picture into thirds. Giving more visual interest. Allowing me to develop my imagery.
Shades of White....of course dealt with whites. We also were introduced to cold wax and hot encaustic wax. Both were new to me....but I'm really enjoying the cold wax a lot.
This was my first cold wax....I just followed the class lesson. I gave it to The Hired Hand for Christmas.
Then I saw a photograph in a magazine and the idea of my Woodland Angels came to me. This is my first....she didn't get wings...that of course came to me later.....but I like it a lot.
This one is called The Shepherd's Angel. She totally came out of my head! I want to mat it in this glass frame and then I think I'll enter this one in the HoCo fair this summer.
I have at least 1 more to do...but I lost my MoJo and have to wait to finish it. Hey, that's just the way art is!!!
I used acrylics and LOTS of different textured pastes with stencils and then free forming; plain, crackle and white sand.
